A Movie Date Miracle

I had to work during Luke's day off yesterday, so we had planned to go to the movies in the evening. When I got home from work Luke was being a good husband and cooked vegetarian  risotto for dinner, which we had at the raging time of 5.30pm. Every single time we go to the movies, which are only a three minute drive from our house, we are late. We're those annoying people that get there really late and stumble up the stairs anxiously. And funnily enough, I have a slight fear of getting to the movies late and walking up the stairs looking for a seat in front of everyone, yet we're late every time. So this week we were determined to get there on time, and we did - accidentally. When we were looking at the movie times online we were choosing between two movies with one starting at 6pm & the other at 6.30pm. I got the times mixed up and thought it started at 6pm. We took ages with dinner and getting ready and ended up leaving our house at 6.05pm, and when we arrived we went to take our walk of shame and there was nobody in there! The movie started at 6.30pm, so we were able to cross that off our bucket list! We saw 'What To Expect When You're Expecting', and it was hilarious! Go see it!

Date Week

This week has been quite eventful so far. After my work Christmas party on Sunday evening, Luke & I stayed in bed most of the day and left our little bat cave in the early afternoon. Just in time to have afternoon coffees and a late lunch at one of our favourite cafes, which also happens to be a two minute walk from our house! Two Birds Gallery makes the most amazing cappuccino, and these dandy lentil burgers that make any mood a happy one. After our lunch date, we went to the movies to watch the third Twilight movie while it was still showing here. I've only just started to show an interest in the Twilight stories, and I'm still not convinced. Like, they're entertaining and Edward is the biggest babe, but.. I don't know. Its kind of like my interest for Miley Cyrus, fleeting & seasonal. Afterwards we came home and finally got around to unpacking our new bed sides (that arrived Friday). I'd put off unpacking them because I couldn't bare the thought of having them sit next to our bed without any lamps. So after they were unpacked, we quickly ran to the shops and bought some super cute ceramic lamps. I'm going to post pictures later because they're too cute not to!

On Tuesday I wanted to sleep in (again, I know!) and start a new illustration, but my Mum called me and invited me over for a lunch date to make rum balls and have coffee and toasted sandwiches. So, thats what I did on Tuesday! My favourite part about Christmas, besides getting to spend time with my family, is rum balls & my Granny's home made mayo! Girlfriend knows how to make a good sandwich sauce! It's usually this time of the year that the rum balls start rolling in!

I hope everybody is having a great little week!

You Am I

Luke spent Wednesday evening in Newcastle, and I crossed another book off my 'must read' list. When he got home Thursday afternoon we decided our evening would be a movie & pizza night. We hired 'Suckerpunch' & 'Red Riding Hood'; was not a fan of 'Suckerpunch'. I was however, a bit smitten with 'Red Riding Hood'. Put that on the dvd wish list! Luke & I watched 'Red Riding Hood' with our hoods on, they were not however red.

And Friday evening we went to see a 'You Am I' gig. I've seen them a handful of times before, but it was Luke's first time. He randomly saw one of his old highschool friends from Gunnedah working doing the sound stuff. It was a pretty neat gig. It's always nice to see Australian bands & having people whip their hurr back and fourth!

Date

A couple of days ago Luke & I had a charming little date which entailed mid morning cappuccinos & a sneaky slice of pecan pie at Cafe Macaw. Then off to the movies to see 'Conan The Barbarian' - Luke's choice. I won't fib, it was a lot more intriguing than I thought it would be. Luke persuaded me to go with a promise of a new dress afterwards, so I went. Because he is such a nice husband, he also bought me Peter Bjorn & John 's, 'Gimme Some'. Afterwards we made a quick stop by Mad Mex for dinner & came home to finish our day off with cups of tea!
