Our Third Anniversary & Love Treats

The day we got married / My present from Luke
Yesterday was mine & Luke's third wedding anniversary. Time certainly does fly! We both had to work unfortunately and spent very little of our together. I started work early yesterday morning, so Luke got up early with me and we had tea and bagels for breakfast. Luke baked the bagels himself and they were amazing! On his days off this week he went to the shops on the sly and bought me an anniversary present - a David Bowie book, a weird animals book, Groove Armada cd and a horse print sheer shirt. And he packaged it up in a super duper cute deer bag from Typo. And because we weren't able to spend the evening together, he came home in his lunch break and made me risotto for dinner. Because we knew months ago that there was going to be a function on at Luke's work on our anniversary, we knew we wouldn't be able to spend the day together. So we agreed to go to Sydney for a weekend as close to our actual anniversary as we could and it just so happens to be when Jack White & Band Of Skulls are touring towards the end of this month! So I'm pretty keen for that! Even though I saw Luke for a total of about two hours yesterday, we still managed to have at least one meal together, hang out and watch the Wimbledon semi-finals with cups of tea & white chocolate brownie. Being married to your best friend really is the best thing!

Surprise Package

My Friday was pretty excellent. I slept in, received an email with some good news, wore my favourite new top, had a coffee date with my friend Holly, and received a surprise care package in the mail from my aunty. I woke up feeling not too enthusiastic as it was raining & cold and the thought of going out in the rain after straightening my hair really puts me off. And as I was pottering around my flat, I had somebody knock at my door. I didn't want to answer the door because I wasn't expecting anyone and I had wet hair, but I'm so super glad I did! It was the package man with a package van bringing me some boxed goods. I knew instantly who it was from because of all their business stickers plastered over the box. I was getting ready to go meet up with Holly so I didn't get to gush over it as much as I could straight away.

The care package was made up with the following: T2 teabags, Santa Vittoria Apricot juice, Bills Beans, Beerenberg mini jams, bird coasters, nifty little eraser cleaning sponges, socks, Soho camp & underwear, Eco Store bars of soap, Basque make up bag, stainless steel water filtration bottle, tooth brush holders, mascara & little things from L'occitane! And the second best thing about getting this in the mail, was that my sister also got one sent to her too!

Belated Birthday Boots Illustrated

New boots.
Last Tuesday I went to Newtown in Sydney by myself for the first time ever. I've never had a solo adventure to the city, so I was a little excited and nervous. I have no sense of direction & whenever I'm in Sydney I rely on whoever I'm with to get about.
My birthday was about a month ago, and because Luke works so much and there aren't any places around the coast that stock Doc Marten's, I only just got my present last Tuesday. New black Doc's.
Here they are, illustrated rather than photographed.

Presents

Over the past couple of weeks I have acquired a couple of cute presents from various places around the world from my family. I guess I have pretty defined tastes in treats & every day fancy, as all of the gifts are colourful & bright!

My cousin Kate bought me the Himalayan Felt coin purse, which excites me to no end as I currently have an obsession with felt ball creations. Happiness comes in the form of a felt ball mat . She picked that bad boy up out in the country where I grew up, in Gunnedah. It was definitely a nice surprise!

The four buttons and lady beetles were from my aunty Sharon, who recently went on an around the world type cruise holiday. She brought all of my cousins back some hand crafted goodness from Prague. Mine was in the form of a lady beetle necklace and matching bracelet. They are so fracking adorable! The buttons are also from Prague, they were designed and crafted by a local artist, and intended for my button collection. She knows exactly the things I like!

My sister Ashleigh recently arrived home from her Hawaiian honeymoon, and she didn't return empty handed! She picked me up a cute-as-all-get-out necklace of a bunny xylophonist character! I am so in love with it! And to keep in with the animal theme, she picked up some cute character pegs with cute little 'pick me ups' on them. When I set up a desk, its going to be so adorable with similar assortments.
