The Importance Of Bedside Tables

For the past couple of weeks I've casually mentioned to Luke that I'd like to give our creamy white looking bedroom a little bit of a makeover. I've been coveting a particular bed cover from Urban Outfitters that started this obsession with changing things up, and started my new obsession - bedside tables. When we bought new furniture seven months ago, I couldn't wait to decorate our bedsides, but the interest wore thin after we had to wait seven weeks for them to arrive. By the time they came we settled on a ceramic lamp and a wood cut block letter to decorate our bedsides. The last couple of trips to the shops I've been keeping my eyes open for things to make our bedroom snappy and found a couple of neat things so far. I've been browsing pinterest for inspiration and ideas and found so many lovely bedsides. At least 70% of the pictures I've been drooling over feature a fresh vase of flowers, and as lovely as they are I just don't know how practical that is unless your husband is a florist or is constantly super sorry. When I find the particular wooden coat stand that I have in mind for the corner of our room, we'll change everything else.

  3. Urban's have the best bed covers don't they. we got ours from ikea and apparently they only make theirs to fit their beds. major loss for us, our bedspread looks ridiculous.

  4. awww i need one. Our bedroom furniture is placed such that there is only enough room for one bedside table. Which doesn't happen to be on MY side, because the door swings open too close to my end of the bed. i have to get out of bed, get to the dresser three steps away to shut off my alarm in the mornings. But thankfully, it also ensures i wake up on time!

  5. I agree. Bedside tables are important. We only have one bedside table in our bedroom because I bought both the bed and bedside table when I was still living at home with my family, and this bedroom set has since been discontinued. The bed and mattress were fairly cheap and aren't really the best things to be sleeping on, so poor Ben has to sleep in an uncomfy bed with no bedside table beside him. :P

    1. I don't have an account because if I did I would waste even more time on there. So I just browse pin boards.

  8. Get a few succulents and put them in a pot on the bedside table on the sunny side of the room :) Bedside tables are absolute necessities!!

    1. That is an excellent idea! I've been meaning to get a succulent for a while now, it could serve a much greater purpose than living room decor!

  9. I love my bedside tables. They're just an Ikea pair but they have a little shelf and cupboard. Very handy!

  11. Love them all! I would need the one with the drawers to put all my junk that is on top of my poor Ikea side table.

    1. Exactly! When I got my bedside tables i realised I had to cut down on visible clutter, so I've just moved all my clutter into the spare room. Which is now my new task of clearing out.

  13. All of those bedside tables are so beautiful! Ours has pretty things on it, but for the most part it's messy. I really need to revamp it.

  14. Haha, I love the title of this post! I almost feel like a bedroom isn’t complete without bedside tables. You can place your more personal effects on them and keep them close, like cellphones or personal gadgets, books, and even the remote control, so that you don’t lose them.
